ESAA-Engineering Student Alumni Ambassadors

Beginning in September 2012, I became a member of Engineering Student Alumni Ambassadors (ESAA). ESAA is a student-run, college-sponsored organization whose goal is to promote and foster student alumni relations. We co-hosted many alumni events with College of Engineering, such as Engineering Convergence, Engineering Open House Alumni Welcome Center, Homecoming Alumni Retreat, Freshfest and Senior Sunday.

Since the role of Engineering Student Alumni Ambassador is to serve as a representative of the College of Engineering, I represent not only myself but also the college in the events. This pushed my potential to the fullest. I also reached out to different individuals frequently to develop mutually beneficial relationships between students and alumni, which enormously strengthened my communication skills. In many cases, I needed to start a conversation between alumni and students, and lead the direction of the communication as well. In addition, my interpersonal skills and networking capabilities have been improved during those alumni events. I have gained some valuable connections with alumni, students and faculty, which benefited my personal development.
